The EJCW works diligently to identify and remove the numerous barriers that prevent environmental justice communities from engaging in water policy processes that have profound and long-lasting impacts on their lives. We employ various strategies to accomplish our objectives, including policy analysis and advocacy, community capacity-building and training, and fostering new collaborations. EJCW is actively involved in Sacramento to ensure that legislators address the pressing water and environmental justice issues challenging our communities.
Our report, Thirsty for Justice, identified many of these barriers and included twenty three policy recommendations for legislators and government officials to implement at the local and state level.
